The story
In the folded hills of Nan, near the Lao border, a younger generation of weavers is doing something quietly radical: keeping the old highland looms and giving them a modern vocabulary. This throw is proof of the argument — traditional structure, contemporary colour, blocks of tone laid against each other with a designer’s eye.
It has real weight. A cotton-and-wool blend gives it warmth without stiffness, and it drapes over the arm of a sofa or the foot of a bed like it was measured for the room. Both ends are finished with fringe knotted by hand.
Each throw is handwoven to order in Nan, so the width may wander a centimetre or two — the honest cost of a loom worked by hand. Allow 3–4 weeks before it ships.
Dry-clean, or hand-wash cold and dry flat; keep it out of prolonged direct sun.
